Happy Birthday Perfect Limo Service, Inc. Thirty six years ago today I sat waiting for the the phone to ring, pretty much the same as we are doing today. This little dip we are experiencing will be over soon. I'm looking at this as a new beginning with our current friends along for the ride; our great clients and employees.
When we started, our client base was Panasonic, BMW and Falcon Jet. Today we are blessed with so much more. Falcon Jet is still on board. One of the great things about loyal customers, is they will always think of us wherever they go.
As I sit here and try to think of great words of wisdom, hundreds of stories are running through my mind, about everyone I have crossed paths with in this industry. Good Lord, I've been so lucky. I keep thinking of singling out certain clients, chauffeurs or office staff, but every time I start one of those sentences I think of somebody else or another great story that is better. It is so difficult, because there have been so many positive influences in our lives, I don't know where to begin.
When we get calls from people from the past, and we reminisce about their time as a client or employee it always puts a smile on my face. I'm sure there are bad stories, but whatever they are, they get put in the trash can and the happy thoughts will always override them.
One story. In the late 80's we were sharing office space with another limo company to cut back on expenses. One day there was a horrible storm. Thundering and lighting was so bad. I was talking with a chauffeur who didn't want to wait at Newark Airport any longer for his next client to arrive. Justine, was sitting a few feet away from me as I was standing in front of the dispatch wall looking out the window. Suddenly, pow! I saw a bolt a lighting hit the telephone pole across the street, and just as quickly I felt it go through my arm and into my stomach like a solid punch to the gut. I keeled over and through the phone from my right hand, which turns out, was a blessing. Justine, started laughing at me because she had no idea what just happened. Indirectly, I was hit by lighting! Boy, did it hurt. My phone system was destroyed. We had to have the calls forwarded to my home. The good news was the chauffeur thought I hung up on him, so he stayed to do the the ride. I survived, Perfect Limo survived.
We will survive, people. Life will be different but there is so much brain power in our industry, from association leaders to our local groups and especially our staff. We will come up with bigger and better solutions for ourselves and our clients.
Thank You,
