Not sure about you, but I can't wait for November 5th to come. No more political commercials. Hopefully! Maybe we'll get more of the Stanley Steamer guy with the deep voice ready to mop up the bloody mess!
Earlier this week, I saw on the news station I watch about another poll. This one claims that 97% of New Yorkers describe themselves as 'kind'.
So, that must mean that the other 3% moved to New Jersey. Joking, don't get mad. But isn't it funny how we all view ourselves?
Years ago, Perfect Limo had a customer who had this same philosophy about himself. He demanded everything and almost always at the worst times. He was the President of a small company that had their headquarters in the Midwest with an office in NJ.
His company weren't the biggest travelers, but that is minor, because everyone who travels is important to us. But, if we ever had an issue accommodating him in a snowstorm, as an example, with his last minute call, the man would go on a mini rage.
Then, one day, I went to drive him myself, because, in normal circumstances, our phone conversations were always good. Look, deep down he was a nice guy. Unfortunately, he must've had that 3% buried somewhere inside. When he dropped the news on me he was moving out of the tri state area, I was curious to know why? He responded with, you ready for this, "People here are not very kind!" I may be paraphrasing, it was awhile ago, but I think you get the idea.
Now, you may be thinking to yourself, not me, no 3% here. But let me ask you a simple question. Have you ever chuckled when you see someone walking down the sidewalk and they stumble and look silly! Yep, that's how it starts.
Which leads me to an article from Travel and Leisure magazine I receive. Turns out there is a company called BookRetreats.com that released it's Holiday Happiness index. It's got a whole bunch of factors going into their survey and they came up with Orlando, Fl as the place that makes people the happiest when visiting on vacation. This I can understand, because the weather and sunshine are great to be in.
What surprised me though, is Chicago came in #2. Not sure what time of year they are talking about, but if it's in July, I definitely agree. Is possible there are a lot of 97%er's living there?
Let's see how Phiily fans welcome the NY Giants this weekend!
Be safe.
